RESOLUTION NO. 9924
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR PROJECT 02-72 ANNUAL SIDEWALK
MAINTENANCE, PROJECT 02-02 ACCESSIBILITY RAMPS AND CAMPBELL
LIBRARY FRONTAGE IMPROVEMENT TO JOS. J. ALBANESE, INC.,
ENCUMBERING $27,581.00 AS A 10% CONTINGENCY, AUTHORIZING THE
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT,
AND APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT
WHEREAS, bids were received for construction of Project 02-72, Annual Sidewalk
Maintenance, Project 02-02 Accessibility Ramps and Campbell Library Improvement Project, on
August 29,2001; and
WHEREAS, Jos. 1. Albanese, Inc. has been found to be the lowest responsible bidder
with a total bid of $271,419.15; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency 2000-2001 Operating Budget authorized
$20,000 for the Campbell Library Frontage Project and were not expended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that the construction contract for the aforementioned projects be awarded to Jos. 1. Albanese,
Inc., in the amount of$271,419.15, and that $27,581.00 be encumbered as a 10 % contingency
for a total amount of $299,000.15, that the Public Works Director is hereby authorized to execute
an agreement with Jos. 1. Albanese, Inc.; and hereby approving a budget adjustment in the
amount of $20,000 transferring unexpended funds from the Redevelopment Agency
unappropriated fund balance to the Campbell Library Frontage Project.
