RESOLUTION NO. 9905
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR WINCHESTER BICYCLE VIDEO DETECTION
EQUIPMENT PROJECT 01-18 AND UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SOURCES FOR
EIGHT MAJOR INTERSECTIONS PROJECT 01-30 AND
AUTHORIZING THE READVERTISEMENT OF PROJECTS 01-18 AND 01-30
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of Winchester Bicycle Video
Detection Equipment (Project 01-18) were approved by the City Council on March 20, 2001
and bids were solicited and opened on July 12, 2001; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of Uninterruptible Power
Sources for Eight Major Intersections (Project 01-30) were approved by the City Council on
March 20, 2001 and bids were solicited and opened on June 7, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the specifications for the furnishing of Winchester Bicycle Video
Detection Equipment (Project 01-18) contained specific provisions that were outdated and that
disqualified newer video detection technologies; and
WHEREAS, the specifications for the installation of Uninterruptible Power Sources
(UPS's) at Eight Major Intersections called for installing the UPS's inside traffic signal
controller cabinets; and
WHEREAS, safer methods now exist for installing UPS's outside traffic signal
controller cabinets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that all bids for the furnishing of Winchester Bicycle Video Detection Equipment (Project 01-
18) received on July 12, 2001 are hereby rejected and that the City Council of the City of
Campbell authorizes the Public Works Director to readvertise and call for formal bids for the
procurement of Winchester Bicycle Video Detection Equipment and to award a contract to the
lowest responsible bidder.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that all
bids for the installation of Uninterruptible Power Sources (Project 01-30) received on June 7,
2001 are hereby rejected and that the City Council of the City of Campbell authorizes the
Public Works Director to readvertise and call for informal bids for the procurement of
Uninterruptible Power Sources (Project 01-30) and to award a contract to the lowest
responsible bidder.
