RESOLUTION NO. 9904
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE SOLICITATION OF BIDS FOR
PROJECT 02-72 ANNUAL SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE, PROJECT 96-09 ACCESSIBILITY
RAMPS, AND CAMPBELL LIBRARY FRONTAGE IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the adopted 2001-2002 operating budget includes funds for sidewalk maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the adopted 2001-2002 Capital Improvement Program includes funds for Project 96-09
- Accessibility Ramps; and
WHEREAS, the adopted 2000-2001 Operating Budget included funding for Campbell Library
Frontage Improvements; and
WHEREAS, informal bids received to complete the Campbell Library Frontage Improvements were
determined to be excessive and non-responsive and were therefore rejected; and
WHEREAS, economics of scale would be realized by combining the Campbell Library Frontage
Improvement Project with the Sidewalk Maintenance and Accessibility Ramp Projects; and
WHEREAS, stafIhas identified locations to be included in this year's sidewalk maintenance project
through service requests, visual observations in the vicinity of service requests, and additional locations that
need repairs prior to the pavement maintenance project; and
WHEREAS, staff has also identified intersections that need accessibility ramps, and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the improvements listed above have been prepared;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the
plans and specifications for the construction of Project 02-72 Annual Sidewalk Maintenance Project, Project
96-09 Accessibility Ramps, and Campbell Library Frontage Improvement, are hereby approved and the
Public Works Director is authorized to advertise and solicit bids for the construction of the project
improvements.
