CC Resolution 10805 RESOLUTION NO. 10805 BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING THE PROPOSED SITE FOR THE CAMPBELL VETERANS' MEMORIAL AND ASSOCIATED ACTIONS WHEREAS, a Committee, comprised of Campbell citizens and business owners, referred to as the Campbell Veteran's Memorial Committee, has been formed; and WHEREAS, on May 1,2007, City staff presented to Council a report requesting direction regarding a proposed new Veterans' Memorial; and WHEREAS, on May 1, 2007, Council endorsed the concept of a new Veterans' Memorial and provided staff with direction; and WHEREAS, the Committee recommends that the location of the memorial be placed at City Hall between the building and the Orchard City Green Amphitheatre; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Civic Improvement Commission have also endorsed the proposed location; and WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals for landscape architectural services will be prepared and released for design services for a Veterans' Memorial; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Director will review the proposals and select the best qualified consultant to complete the design services and the Public Works Director will negotiate an agreement for such services in an amount not to exceed $30,000; and WHEREAS, a $30,000 budget adjustment from park dedication fees will be established to retain a landscape architect to design the Veterans' Memorial; and WHEREAS, final designs for the Memorial will be developed collaboratively with the Committee and will be presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Civic Improvement Commission for approval prior to presentation to the City Council for final approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby approve the location at City Hall between the building and the Orchard City Green Amphitheater for the proposed Veterans' Memorial site; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the Public Works Director to release a Request for Proposals for landscape architectural services and enter into an agreement for design services in an amount not to exceed $30,000, and authorizes a budget adjustment from park dedication fees in the amount of $30,000.
