RESOLUTION NO. 9830
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF C MPBELL
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHO IZING
CALL FOR BIDS - UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SOURCES A D LED's
AT EIGHT MAJOR INTERSECTIONS AND APPROVAL OF A UDGET
ADJUSTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell's Emergency Plan calls for traf ic controls to be
established at key intersections and at access points to major evacuation ro tes as needed to
expedite the flow of traffic; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell desires to maintain signal operati ns particularly at
eight major signalized intersections along its arterials; and
WHEREAS, the engineer's estimate for a project to furnish and inst I Uninterruptible
Power Sources and Light-Emitting Diodes at these eight major intersections i $120,000; and
WHEREAS, the installation of Uninterruptible Power Sources a Light-Emitting
Diodes at these eight major intersections would maintain signal operations t these locations
during power outages for up to three hours; and
WHEREAS, the engineer's estimate is above the $100,000 maximum imit for informal
bids;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Counci of the City of
Campbell hereby approves the plans and specifications and authorizes all for bids for
Uninterruptible Power Sources and Light-Emitting Diodes at eight ajor signalized
intersections; authorizes the Public Works Director to award a contract for c nstruction to the
lowest responsible bidder up to $120,000; and approves a budget adjustmen in the amount of
$120,000.
