RESOLUTION NO. 9823
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI OF
CAMPBELL CONGRATULATING ALIE'S CORNER CAF
ON BEING SELECTED "BUSINESS OF THE YEAR"
WHEREAS, Alie's Corner Cafe opened in downtown Campbell in May of 1
owned and managed business by Eileen Tanaka and her mother, Alice; and
WHEREAS, Alie's Corner Cafe quickly became a popular eatery offering th community a long
desired place to eat breakfast and lunch in downtown Campbell; and
WHEREAS, Alie's Corner Cafe is known for its delicious food and friendly cust mer service and is
frequently called upon by various local commercial, social and charitable organi ations to cater their
special events; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Tanaka was interested in the local business climate and
Gaslighter Theater owner Richard Gaetano to initiate the Bunnies and Bonnets
held for the third year in April 2001; and

WHREAS, Eileen Tanaka is active in the Downtown Campbell Business Assoc ation and served as
its President in 1999-2000, and currently serves on the Campbell Chamber of ommerce Board of
Directors; and
WHEREAS, Eileen's dad, Norm, is on the Board of Directors for the Campbell Museum
Association, her mother, Alice, is a supporting member of the Country Wo an's Club, and the
entire Tanaka family is actively involved in the Campbell community support in such causes as the
Campbell Education Foundation, the Toys for Tots, Country Woman's Club C ab and Pasta Feed,
the American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" event, and the Leukemia Societ .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Campbell City Council congratulate Alie's
Corner Cafe on being selected "Business of the Year" and recognize the ma y contributions this
family-owned business has made to the Campbell community.
