RESOLUTION NO. 9808
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF T
CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING THE APPLICATI
FOR CERTIFICATION UNDER THE CERTIFIED LOC
GOVERNMENT PROGRAM AND APPOINTING T
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
COORDINATE, PROCESS, AND EXECUTE
CONTRACTS, AGREEMENTS, AMENDMENTS, A
ANCILLARY DOCUMENTS WITHIN THE SCOPE OF T
ATTACHED APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATION.
WHEREAS, the Congress under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1 66, amended (16
U.S.c. 470), has authorized the establishment ofa Certified Local Government program; and
WHEREAS, the State of California, represented by the State Historic Prese ation Officer, is
responsible for the administration of the program within the state and the establishment of
necessary rules and procedures governing the application by local agencies u der the program;
and
WHEREAS, said adopted procedures established by the State of Cali rnia require the
applicant to certify by resolution of the local government's elected officials e approval of an
application prior to submission of said application to the state;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the ity of Campbell
hereby approves a resolution which approves the filing of an application for ertification under
the Certified Local Government Program and appoints the Community Devel pment Director to
coordinate, process, and execute all contracts, agreements, amendments, and a cilIary documents
within the scope of the attached application for certification.

City Council Policy
1.9 Advisory Commissions
1.9(a) Appointments: Appointments to City advisory commissions (with th exception of the
Building Board of Appeals and Landlord Representatives on the Rental Incr ase Fact Finding
Committee) shall be limited to persons residing within the city limits of the ity of Campbell.
Whenever an unscheduled vacancy occurs in any commission, a special vac cy notice shall be
posted by the City Clerk's Office within 20 days after the vacancy occu . Following an
interview with a Council-appointed Subcommittee, a recommendation fl r each advisory
commission appointment shall be made at the next regular meeting of the ity Council and
approved by a majority vote of the Council.
The City Council may, if it finds that an emergency exists, fill the uns heduled vacancy
immediately with this appointment serving in an acting basis until the final app intment is made.
