RESOLUTION NO. 9807
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF T
CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING THE AMENDME
OF CITY COUNCIL POLICY 1.9(A) REGARDING T
RECRUITMENT OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION BO
MEMBERS WHO MEET THE SECRETARY OF T E
INTERIOR'S ST ANDARDS FOR PROFESSIONALS IN
HISTORIC PRESERVATION.
WHEREAS, the Certified Local Government Program is a national pro am designed to
encourage the direct participation of a local government in the identificatio , registration, and
preservation of historic properties located within the jurisdiction of the local go ernment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell is seeking to become certified under t e Certified Local
Government program created by the National Historic Preservation Act of 196 , as amended, and
coordinated by the California Office of Historic Preservation; and
WHEREAS, the requirements of all Certified Local Governments in Califo
local preservation commission have at least two members that meet the Secret of the Interior's
Standards for professionals in historic preservation as published in the Septem er 29, 1983 issue
of the Federal Register as part of the larger Secretary of the Interior's Stand ds and Guidelines
for Archeology and Historic Preservation; and;
WHEREAS; the Historic Preservation Board members for the City of Camp ell are appointed
by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby approves a resolution which adds the following text to City Council Pol cy 1.9(a):
