RESOLUTION NO. 9776
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING BILL M. HELMS FOR THIRTY -SIX YEARS OF
EMPLOYMENT WITH THE CITY OF CAMPBELL UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Bill M. Helms was hired by the City of Campbell as a Civil Engineer
Assistant on September 1, 1964; and
WHEREAS, during his thirty-six years of service Bill Helms has held various positions
including Assistant Civil Engineer, Associate Civil Engineer, Engineering Manager, Deputy
Public Works Director, and currently Environmental Programs/Land Development Manager;
and
WHEREAS, Bill Helms has contributed significantly to the development of various
projects in the City, including the Prometheus development at 900 E. Hamilton Avenue, the
Downtown Loop Street Project, the Los Gatos Creek Trail, Campisi Way extension, storm
water management, non-point source, solid waste collection, Pruneyard expansion,
development of the former Winchester Drive-In site as both a technology park and community
park, and the extension of the Vasona Corridor Light Rail System through Campbell; and
WHEREAS, Bill Helms has always conducted himself in the most professional,
courteous and competent manner; and
WHEREAS, Bill Helms has announced his retirement effective December 31, 2000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell hereby commends Bill M. Helms for his dedication and service to the citizens of
Campbell for the past thirty-six years and send best wishes for a fulfilling retirement.
