RESOLUTION NO. 9774
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO PACIFIC UTILITY EQUIPMENT CO. FOR PURCHASE
OF A BUCKET TRUCK WITH BOOM/BUCKET ASSEMBLY AND
AUTHORIZING TRADE-IN OF SURPLUS BUCKET TRUCK
WHEREAS, bids were received for a bucket truck with boom/bucket assembly; and,
WHEREAS, MTI Insulated Products, Inc., submitted the lowest bid of $91,983.27 but
did not fulfill the bidding requirements of submitting the specified layout drawing and stability
calculations; and,
WHEREAS, Truck Hydraulic Equipment Co., Inc., submitted the second lowest bid of
$95,512.22 but did not fulfill the bidding requirement of submitting stability calculations and
offered a truck with unacceptable lube bearings and boom articulation angles; and,
WHEREAS, Pacific Utility Equipment Co. has been found to be the lowest responsible
bidder meeting the bid requirements with a bid of $100,704.98 and a trade-in allowance of
$5,000.00 for a net bid of $95,704.98; and,
WHEREAS, Unit No. 3014, 1984 GMC Aerial Bucket Truck, has reached the end of its
useful life.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that the trade-in of Unit No. 3014, 1984 GMC Aerial Bucket Truck, be authorized; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the
contract for purchase of a bucket truck with boom/bucket assembly be awarded to Pacific Utility
Equipment Co. in the amount of $100,704.98 minus the trade-in allowance of $5,000.00 for a net
amount of $95,704.98, and that the Public Works Director is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with Pacific Utility Equipment Co.
