RESOLUTION NO. 10809
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF STEVEN AUFDERMAUER FROM THE
BICYCLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (BAC), AUTHORIZING THE IMPLEMENTATION
OF TERMS FOR BAC MEMBERS, AND APPOINTING DAVID PASFIELD TO FILL
THE VACANCY ON THE COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has established a Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC)
with five members appointed by the City Council to provide valuable guidance to the
City regarding bicycle policies and programs; and
WHEREAS, terms are standard practice for boards and commissions in Campbell and
other cities; and
WHEREAS, Campbell BAC members have been serving indefinitely; and
WHEREAS, terms for the BAC would bring the committee more in line with other City
boards and commissions; and
WHEREAS, terms would help BAC members know when they have fulfilled their term of
service and would give them the opportunity to reapply or resign; and
WHEREAS, terms would also allow for the potential of more people to become involved
in public service and invigorate the BAC with new insights and perspectives; and
WHEREAS, Steven Aufdermauer, a longtime BAC member, recently resigned from the
Committee; and
WHEREAS, the City solicited applications for serving on the Committee and seven
applications were received; and
WHEREAS, an interview panel comprised of two Public Works staff and
representatives from the BAC interviewed the applicants and approved a
recommendation for David Pasfield to fill the vacancy on the Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
authorizes the implementation of four-year terms for BAC members from this point
forward.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that Mr.
Steven Aufdermauer is hereby removed from the Bicycle Advisory Committee and Mr.
David Pasfield is hereby appointed to serve on the Committee.
