RESOLUTION NO. 10821
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF DONATED SURPLUS VEHICLES AND
CONVEYANCE TO THE CITY OF RIOVERDE, MEXICO
WHEREAS, the International City/County Management Association (ICMA)
established the International Resource Cities Program (IRCP) in 1997 to provide
technical assistance to municipalities in developing and transitional countries; and
WHEREAS, in November 2001, the City Council authorized the execution of a
Memorandum of Understanding with ICMA, and the City of Rioverde, Mexico; and
WHEREAS, Campbell has continued to maintain contact with officials in
Rioverde for the purpose of ongoing support and technical assistance; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has received offers from several companies
willing to donate vehicles to the City for conveyance to the City of Rioverde; and
WHEREAS, the City also wishes to donate miscellaneous surplus furniture,
computer equipment, and office equipment that are of minimal salvage value and are
no longer of any use to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell hereby authorizes the acceptance of the vehicles identified on Exhibit A,
attached hereto for donation to the City of Rioverde, Mexico.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the donation of
miscellaneous surplus equipment, furniture and supplies to the City Rioverde, San Luis
Potosi, Mexico no longer needed by the City and of minimal salvage value.
