A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING THE COST
SHARING AGREEMENT WITH COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA FOR PAVING OF S. BASCOM AVENUE,
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT, AND
APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City's adopted FY 05/06 CIP included the Bascom Avenue Resurfacing Project 06-02
which was to be funded in part by STP grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the City entered into an agreement with the City of San Jose to complete resurfacing work on
Bascom Avenue in conjunction with the City of San Jose's Bascom Avenue resurfacing work; and
WHEREAS, the City approved the direct transfer of STP funds for the Bascom Avenue Resurfacing
Project to the City of San Jose for use in the resurfacing of portions of Bascom Avenue within the City of
Campbell; and
WHEREAS, the City agreed to provide matching funds for the STP grants to the City of San Jose using
funds from the deferred street maintenance projects; and
WHEREAS, the County has prepared the attached agreement to contribute a monetary sum to the City
of Campbell for the rehabilitation of the recently annexed portion of Bascom Avenue between White Oaks
and Hwy 85; and
WHEREAS, the attached budget adjustment has been prepared to recognize the transfer of STP funding
directly to the City of San Jose, the transfer of funds from the deferred street maintenance project, and
the addition of funds from the County of Santa Clara for the Bascom Avenue resurfacing project 06-02;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby approves
the "Agreement Between the County of Santa Clara and the City of Campbell Related to the Annexation
of Unincorporated Pockets to the City of Campbell" for the resurfacing of Bascom Avenue, authorizes the
Public Works Director to execute the agreement, and approves the attached budget adjustment.

REASON FOR REQUEST - BE SPECIFIC:
Adjust funding sources for the Bascom Avenue Resurfacing Project (CIP 06-02). Federal funding (STP)
is being sent directly to the City of San Jose ($303,000). Funding from ClPR ($245,000) and
County of Santa Clara funding ($103,137) for an annexed portion are being added to the project.
