CC Resolution 10829 RESOLUTION NO. 10829 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE BAY AREA AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT CLIMATE PROTECTION GRANT PROGRAM FOR A CAPACITY BUILDING GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $75,000 TO FUND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CITY ENERGY IMPLEMENTATION PLAN. WHEREAS, the City of Campbell recognizes the significant threat of Global Climate Change; and WHEREAS, the City of Campbell recognizes and values the importance of greening City services and facilities as a means of reducing the impact of Global Climate Change; and WHEREAS, the City of Campbell recognizes the importance of facilitating ecologically sustainable private development and practices as a means of reducing the impact of Global Climate Change; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Campbell has directed City staff to explore alternatives for enhancing "green" practices; and WHEREAS, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District is administering the Climate Protection Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the Climate Protection Grant Program offers a Capacity Building grant up to $75,000; and WHEREAS, the Capacity Building Grant may be used to hire personnel to develop a City Energy Implementation Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District for a Capacity Building Grant in the amount of $75,000 to fund the development of a City Energy Implementation Plan.
