A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING JOHN IAQUINTO UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM
THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
WHEREAS, John Iaquinto was hired by the City of Campbell on September 3, 2001; and
WHEREAS, John Iaquinto, was responsible for several park renovations which included
the landscaping and irrigation design of Gomes Park, the Los Gatos County Dog Park, the Ainsley
park and Westmont medians; and
WHEREAS, John Iaquinto was responsible for the design and installation of the pre school
play structure at the Campbell Community Center; and
WHEREAS, John Iaquinto successfully applied for the Safe Tree Grant sponsored by
Pacific Gas & Electric and was awarded $9,975, which allowed for the additional planting of 57
trees along Westmont Avenue as part of the Westmont Avenue Improvement project; and
WHEREAS, upon John Iaquinto's recommendation, the "City's Official Tree List" was
updated to remove trees that were no longer suitable for street tree planting. Better suited trees
were added to the list providing a larger selection. In addition to revising the list, a pictorial guide
was included illustrating the trees maturity and a brief description of each tree along with a photo;
and
WHEREAS, John Iaquinto was instrumental in the amendment of the Chapter 11.08, City's
Street Trees and parking Strip Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, John Iaquinto was instrumental in the approval of a Campbell Veteran's
Memorial site which will honor our local veterans; and
WHEREAS, John Iaquinto's landscaping design and expertise won our City a First Place
award by the California Landscape and Contractor's Association for the renovation of Gomes park;
and
WHEREAS, John Iaquinto has served as staff liaison to the Parks and Recreation
Commission and has attended the monthly Parks and Recreation Meetings; and
WHEREAS, John Iaquinto has continuously provided excellent customer service to the
residents of Campbell and his coworkers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does
hereby express its appreciation to John Iaquinto for six years of valuable service and best wishes
for a fulfilling retirement.
