RESOLUTION NO. 10879
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE BUDGET ADJUSTMENT FOR THE SAN TOMAS
EXPRESSWAY/HAMILTON AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, City staff has been working closely with County staff during the design phase of
San Tomas Expressway/Hamilton Avenue Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, the original project scope included 1) adding second left-turn lanes in the
northbound, eastbound, and westbound directions of this intersection, and 2) modifying the
existing traffic signal control system to improve traffic flows on Hamilton Avenue across San
Tomas Expressway; and
WHEREAS, staff requested additional scope of work including 1) landscaping and irrigation,
2) cobblestone paving of pork-chop islands, 3) replacement of existing median islands on
Hamilton Avenue between Darryl Drive and Llewellyn Avenue, and 4) westbound left-turn
lane modification at Darryl Drive; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of additional work is $152,200.00; and
WHEREAS, the current budget for the San Tomas Expressway/Hamilton Avenue
Improvement Project (CIP No. 07-10) is $73,500.00; and
WHEREAS, a budget adjustment of $78,700.00 is required to pay for the additional scope of
work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Campbell that
that the City Council approves a budget adjustment that would allow the City of Campbell to
reimburse the County of Santa Clara for the additional work.
