ATTENTION: Mr. Odd 0 imoen
Gentlemen:
This letter is to inquire of Pacific Gas and Electric Company
what future intentions are in relation to an area of Bdscom
Avenue. This arose as a result of recent applications to the
city. The specific area concerned is shown on the enclosed
maps. A3 you will find, there are two maps--one showing the
area as it existed at the completion of construction in 1969
and the other showing the division of the parcels as of this
date 1974.
The City has been in contact with Mr. Fitzpatrick and
Mr. Boyce of Westlands Bank. They are currently involved
with the construction of a temporary facility and have received
approval for a permanent facility on the same site.
As P. G. & E. may not be a~.ya re, as a resul t of the un.lerground
construction on Bascom Avenue, the aerial line was terminated
at a mid point in the parcel. This is shown and referenced
as existing No.2. This pole will be in the middle of a proposed
driveway for the Westlands Bank. 'rhis will necessitate the
removal of the pole.
In 1968 in extensive discussions with P. G. & E., no reason
could be given to the City on why this pole was placed where
it was. The pole marked existing No. 1 was the logical termina-
tion of the aerial system on the westerly side of Bascom Avenue.
The City has not received any proposals from P. G. & E. regarding
the unlerground sY3tem to service Westlands Bank and the parcel
to the south. At this time the City sees no valid reason to
allow any service with the exception of the already approved
temporary service to come off existing pole No.2.
Mr. Odd Oimoen

We would appreciate it very much if P. G. & E. would look into
their future plans regarding this frontage and make contact
with the City regarding possible solutions in this area. I
have been advised by representatives of Westlands Bank that
they have had discussions with Mr. Pavlino of P. G. & E.
regarding this matter.
Thank you and I _will look forward to hearing from you soon.
Very truly yours,
WILLIAM G. WREN,
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
