RESOLUTION NO. 10903
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING THE SPECIFICATIONS, AUTHORIZING SOLICITATION OF BIDS,
iAUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO AWARD THE CONTRACT,
AND APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT - ANNUAL STREET MAINTENANCE
-I PROJECT 07-05 - (COLLECTOR STREET RUBBERIZED CAPE SEAL)
VVlHEREAS, the City's Pavement Maintenance Program has identified various collector streets
in I need of rehabilitation and the City's Pavement Management Program includes funding
allocated to the rehabilitation of these streets; and

~HEREAS, plans and specifications for the rubber cape seal project for these streets have
b~en prepared and the Public Works Director will review the bids submitted and make a
d~termination of the lowest reasonable and responsible bidder; and

WHEREAS, the encumbrance of a 15% construction contingency will allow for contract
adjustments for such unknowns as gasoline prices and unforeseen complications associated
wjth work on the various collector streets; and
'^1HEREAS, additional street maintenance funding is available from the Hamilton-Salmar
Orerlay Project 05-07;
N~. W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
a proves the plans and specifications for the Street Maintenance Project 07 -05 - Collector
S reet Rubber Cape Seals, authorizes the Public Works Director to issue such plans and
s ecifications for public bid, authorizes the Public Works Director to determine the lowest
r~asonable and responsible bidder and award a construction contract in an amount not to
e*ceed 110% of the engineer's estimate of $925,000 which is $1,017,500.

B~ IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby approves the
e~cumbrance of a 15% construction contingency not to exceed $152,625 for a total contract
arJnount not to exceed $1,170,125, authorizes the Public Works Director to negotiate and
e~ecute contract change orders up to and within the 15% construction contingency, and
a~thorizes staff to prepare an administrative budget adjustment to move necessary funds
r~maining in the Hamilton-Salmar Overlay Project 05-07 into the Collector Street Overlay project
