Enclosed please find three copies of a completed "Street Excavation
Permit" and three prints of an improvement plan showing the proposed
improvements along Campbell and Bascom Avenues.
We have completed as much of the permit application as is possible.
The balance of the application should be completed by you as the
Bank's agent, by the bank itself, or by the contractor.

Sidewalk Bond
Gentlemen:
Because we are replacing part of the existing sidewalks,
the City of Campbell will require a $2500 Faithful Perfor-
mance Bond from California Savings & Loan Company as a
guarantee that you will restore the Public Right of Hay in
the event that something might happen to the Contractor.
The most advantageous method would be a "Deposit with Assign-
ment" which would require California Savings & Loan Company
to deposit $2500 in an account. A stipulation would be
entered on the account that this money could not be removed
without the written release of the City of Campbell and
evidence in the form of a letter be sent to the City.

Gentlemen.
This letter is to confirm our t~lephone conversation
concerning the submittal of the Final Map of subject Parcel Map.
The tentative parcel map was approved by the Planning
Commission on April 3, 1972, and by the City Council on
April 10, 1972, subject to that Parcel 1 and 2 remain as one
parcel.
This office is not aware of any reason why the Final Map
of the Parcel Map cannot be submitted for examination, approval
and recordation at this time and requests that this action
be taken.

The fol1owinq is the sequence of events concerning the subj ect
development as gathered from the files, aqendas and minutes of
the Planning Ccmnission and City Council together with my
personal comments and information of the subject.

Proposed Office Building
A. Application filed September 3, 1971, with Planning
Department.
B. Considered by Planning Commission on october 4, 1971.
C. Approved by Planning Commission on october 4, 1971.
The proposed development encompassed APN 280-58-097
excepting the easterly 5 feet and the easterly 54 feet
of APN 2So-58-l0l.
The applicant was required to file a Parcel Map and to
terminate the Keith's Tire service use upon the
expiration of the current lease.
The applicant did not file the parcel Map and to my
knowledge did not fulfill his obl1~ation concerning
the teD\ination of the use of Reith' s Tire service
establishment.

applicat.ion and would not apply to this application.
Condit.ion "B" he refers to is Condit.ion "J" of "S" 71-62
which required the t.eX1l\ination of Keith' s Tire service
use.

is sUbstantially the same as the proposed development
area .
on March 6, 1972, I received the filinq fees fran
California savings and prepared the Cit.y Engineer's
recommendations to the Planninq Direat.or. The City
Engineer' s recanmendations were that the final map be
filed and that. the assessments be apport.ioned.
It is my understanding that the approval of the tentative
map has been placed on the Planning' COJl'IUission agenda for
the March 20, 1972, meet,1nq.
A few days aft.er I submitted the recommendat.ions to the
Planning' Department., I talked 'to Bruee Powell coneerniIl9
i1:s approval by staff and he infoxmed me that. the matter
would 90 before the CoImIission because it was considered
controversial. He did not elaborate and I didn' t pursue
the matter because I felt tha1: Mr. Ree would have advised
you of any eontroversy, if any.

Enclosed please find a check print of your boundary and
topographic survey showing this office's comments con-
cerning the necessary revisions t:o the sidewalk, driveway
approaches, street trees, and curb and qutt.er. The
revisions are shown in general in accordance with the
site approval application which the applicants filed.
In accordance with the conditions of approval, Item P,
this work may be done by the application for an Excavation
Permit J however, some type of drawing's are to be attached
to the application showing the proposed revision.
It will also be necessary that. a hithful Performance
Bond in the amount of $2,500.00 be posted to insure proper
completion of the construction. The applicants are also
required to pay the plan examination and construction
inspection fee of $S8. 00.
I note with interest that your survey does not encompass
all of the property that the applicants propose to
develop and wish to advise you that the applicants are
also required to prepare and file a parcel map based upon
a field survey showing the exterior boundaries of their
proposed development. '!'he Tentative Map filin9 fee is
$25.00 and the Pinal Map examination fee is $5l.00.
