BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL CONGRATULATING NOB HILL FOODS
ON BEING SELECTED "2002 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR"
WHEREAS, Nob Hill Foods was selected as "2002 Business of the Year" for its longtime
support of the community; and
WHEREAS, Nob Hill Foods began in 1973 as an independent and locally owned grocery store
named "Wings" and was located across the street from its current location; and
WHEREAS, Nob Hill Foods purchased Wings in 1992 and moved the store to its current
location at Kirkwood Plaza, and was subsequently bought out by Raley's in 1998; and
WHEREAS, Nob Hill Food~ prides itself on its service to the community and has consistently
provided quality products and top notch service to its many loyal customers over the years and
is a well-established, stable and charitable enterprise; and
WHEREAS, Nob Hill Foods has donated food for the Community Toy Program, supported
various events for the Chamber of Commerce, and honors most donation requests submitted by
local schools and organizations; and
WHEREAS, Nob Hill Foods supports the "Food For Families Program" where 100 percent of
the donations received go to feed local families through the Salvation Army and the Second
Harvest Food Bank.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Campbell City Council congratulate Nob
Hill Foods on being selected "2002 Business of the Year" and recognize their many
contributions to the Campbell community.
