A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR
FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES WITH THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY
FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
WHEREAS, in 1993, the City Council approved a contract with the Santa Clara County
Central Fire Protection District (County Fire) to provide fire protection services for a
period of five years; and
WHEREAS, in 1998, the City Council approved a second five year contract with County
Fire to provide fire protection services for a period of five years with an automatic
renewal for an additional five years; and
WHEREAS, the City has explored alternatives in advance of the June 30, 2008
expiration of the current contract; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has determined a new contract with County Fire for
fire protection services is in the best interest of the community; and
WHEREAS, the agreement sets forth the services to be received by the City of
Campbell and sets forth current and future costs that are acceptable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Santa Clara
County Fire Protection District for fire protection services for a five year term
commencing July 1, 2008, with five annual renewal options.
