BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A TEXT
AMENDMENT TO THE SAN TOMAS AREA NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN.
After notification and public hearing, as specified by law, and after presentation by the
Community Development Director, proponents and opponents, the hearing was closed.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commission did find as follows:
The proposed amendments represent minor changes to the San Tomas to ensure greater
consistency of street improvements.
The proposed text amendment clarifies street improvement requirements of the San
Tomas Area Neighborhood Plan (STANP).

The proposed text amendment allows minor additions to existing single-family homes
provided the addition blends into the neighborhood.
The proposed text amendment will protect the public health, safety and welfare by
ensuring safe places for pedestrians to walk to public facilities in the neighborhood.
Based upon the foregoing findings of fact, the Planning Commission further finds and concludes
that:
The proposed text amendment is consistent with the intent and purposes of the San
Tomas Area Neighborhood Plan, and
The proposed text amendment is consistent with the development policies and objectives
of the General Plan by preserving the unique character of the San Tomas Neighborhood.
The Planning Commission does hereby recommend that the City Council adopt the attached Text
Amendment to the San Tomas Area Neighborhood Plan by enacting the necessary legislation to
make the proposed text amendment effective.
