A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING SERGEANT REMIGIO E. (MITCH) BECERRA ON
HIS 27 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
WHEREAS, Sergeant Remigio E. (Mitch) Becerra's career with the City of Campbell began on July
1, 1973 as a Police Officer;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Becerra was promoted to Agent on September 28, 1981 and Sergeant on
February 6, 1984;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Becerra has served in every Division and assignment in an outstanding
manner and with the highest degree of professionalism during his 27 years with the Police Department;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Becerra has served as a Motor Officer, Field Services Supervisor, Fraud
Investigator, and Traffic Services Supervisor;
. WHEREAS, Sergeant Becerra has additionally served as a Firearms Instructor, Armorer, Senior
Range Master, and Honor Guard member;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Becerra was a member in good standing of the Bay Area Rangemasters
Association and the County Wide Abandoned Vehicle Association (A VASA);
WHEREAS, Sergeant Becerra's reputation is one of extreme loyalty, dedication, hard work, and the
inability to say "no" to any assignment given to him;
WHEREAS, Sergeant Becerra has always had a long-standing commitment to providing the best
possible service to the Campbell community and his fellow members of the Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council ofthe City of Campbell recognizes
and commends Sergeant Remigio E. (Mitch) Becerra on his retirement from the City of Campbell after 27
years of service.
