RESOLUTION NO. 9618
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FACILITIES IMPROVEMENT AND
JOINT USE AGREEMENT WITH THE CAMPBELL UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, on January 25, 1999, a joint subcommittee of the Campbell City Council and the
Campbell Union Elementary School District (CUSD) Governing Board met to review
recommendations contained in the School Facilities Joint Use Analysis prepared cooperatively by City
and CUSD staff; and
WHEREAS, on February 16, 1999, the City Council conceptually approved the
recommendations of the School District/City Council subcommittee with respect to the Joint School
Facilities Analysis; and
WHEREAS, the Joint School Facilities Analysis recommended a priority list of improvements
that should be funded by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City's Adopted FY 1999-2000 Operating and Capital Budget includes
$460,000 for Joint School Facilities Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Joint School Facilities Analysis also recommended centralizing CUSD and
City field reservations and usage monitoring; and
WHEREAS, the City's Adopted FY 1999-2000 Operating and Capital Budget includes $10,000
for monitoring CUSD field usage as a service level enhancement; and
WHEREAS, City and CUSD staff have negotiated the attached Facilities Improvement and
Joint Use Agreement, which was approved by the CUSD Governing Board on November 18, 1999;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the attached Facilities Improvement and Joint Use
Agreement.
