17.26 Standby Pay - Confidential Employees and Employees Represented by
Campbell Municipal Employees' Association: Standby assignments outside the
regular work schedule will first be made on a voluntary basis. In the absence of
volunteers, the Department or Division Head will designate standby assignments.
Standby assignments will be made in twelve-hour increments and one employee may
be assigned multiple twelve-hour increments. Standby pay shall be compensated at
the rate of two (2) hours of straight time for every twelve hours of standby assignment.
An employee assigned to standby must be available by telephone or pager during
his/her standby assignment and if called in, must report to the directed location within
forty-five (45) minutes of being notified. An employee on standby assignment must be

his/her job. If an employee on standby assignment is called in to work, he/she will be
compensated at the regular overtime rate for the hours worked, once he/she reports, in
addition to the standby pay.
