BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A TEXT
AMENDMENT TO THE SIGN ORDINANCE (PER EXHIBIT #1) TO
ALLOW SIGNAGE ON BUS SHELTERS. FILE NO. TA 98-01.
After notification and public heating, as specified by law, and after presentation by the
Community Development Director, proponents and opponents, the heating was closed.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commission did find as follows
with respect to application TA 98-01:
The proposed amendments allows signage which preserves the visual quality of the
city.
The proposed text amendment does not allow signage which is distracting to
pedestrians or motorist.

The proposed text amendment allows signage which is architecturally consistent with
the new shelter design.
The proposed text amendment will allow signage which promotes the economic
vitality of the City.
Based upon the foregoing findings of fact, the Planning Commission further finds and concludes
that:
The proposed text amendment is consistent with the intent and purposes of the Sign
Ordinance, and
The proposed text amendment is consistent with the development policies and
objectives of the General Plan by allowing attractive and appropriate signage.
The Planning Commission does hereby recommend that the City Council adopt the attached
Ordinance enacting the necessary legislation to make the proposed text amendment effective.
