RESOLUTION NO. 10962
A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT TO
PURCHASE TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES FROM AT&T UNDER THE
STATE'S CALNET 2 AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the State of California has completed a competitive process for the
purchase of telecommunications services; and
WHEREAS, the State selected AT&T as provider, and has negotiated an
Agreement for services, commonly referred to as CALNET 2; and
WHEREAS, CALNET 2 provides that other local agencies may opt in to CALNET
2 and receive the same pricing received .by the State; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell wishes to participate in CALNET 2; and
WHEREAS, Campbell Municipal Code Section 3.20.030 (6) provides for the
purchase of services, supplies or equipment without a local competitive bidding
process when the city elects to purchase supplies, materials or equipment
directly from a vendor determined to be the lowest responsible bidder as a result
of a competitive bid process conducted by the State of California, the County of
Santa Clara or any other California county or municipality;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Campbell that the Finance Director is hereby authorized to execute the contracts
necessary to purchase telecommunications services from AT&T under the
State's CALNET 2 agreement.
