RESOLUTION NO. 10%8
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING THE CIVIC CENTER EAST MASTER PLAN
WHEREAS, on November 20,2007, the City Council authorized the Public Works Director to issue a
Request for Proposals (RFP) for development of a Civic Center East Master Plan and execute a
consultant services agreement for the work; and
WHEREAS, following the RFP process, a contract was signed with Group 4 Architects on April
28, 2008 to complete the Civic Center East Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the Master Plan was to coordinate competing and complimentary needs for
the area such as increased library space, a Heritage Orchard, Museum/Ainsley House upgrades and
parking, and develop options for how these improvements might be constructed within the Civic
Center East area; and
WHEREAS, a number meetings including stakeholder meetings, community meetings, advisory
group meetings and Council study sessions were held regarding the Civic Center East Master Plan;
and
WHEREAS, staff developed ideas from these meetings into a series of guiding principles that could
be adopted as key components to the Civic Center East Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, a final master plan document for the Civic Center East Master Plan was developed
which includes the project background, planning process and program assessment, site and
program recommendations, development strategies and guiding principles,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
approves the Civic Center East Master Plan.
