BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL CONGRATULATING DONNA JO PERRY,
FORMER CAMPBELL POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE, ON HER
RETIREMENT FROM THE TULARE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
WHEREAS, Donna Jo Perry was hired by the City of Campbell as a Part-time Police Clerk on April 12,
1965, and was subsequently promoted to a Full-Time Police Clerk and Dispatcher on August 1, 1965; and
WHEREAS, Donna Jo Perry was hired by the City of Campbell on September 9, 1974 as the first female
Police Officer for the Campbell Police Department and was assigned to the Detective Division; and
WHEREAS, Donna Jo Perry tendered her resignation on July 31, 1977 after twelve years with the
Campbell Police Department due to her husband's employment and moved to Exeter, California; and
WHEREAS, Donna Jo Perry continued her law enforcement career with the Tulare County Sheriff's
Office when she was hired as an Emergency Dispatcher on August 18, 1978, and was subsequently
promoted to the positions of Deputy II in Detentions and assigned to Headquarters (HQ) Patrol, and
Sergeant in 1984 where she worked at the Tulare County Correctional Center (TCCC), the Bob Wiley
Detention Facility (BWDF), and Personnel and Training for a total of 10 years; and
WHEREAS, Donna Jo Perry was promoted to Lieutenant in 1993 and worked in Staff Services, Pixley and
Porterville Substations, the Violent Crime Unit, and most recently as Strategic Planning and Media
Relations Representative; and
WHEREAS, Donna Jo Perry distinguished herself as an outstanding female in law enforcement during her
twenty-five year career.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Campbell City Council congratulates Lieutenant Donna
Jo Perry on her service to the City of Campbell and her retirement from the Tulare County Sheriff's
Office, and wishes her good health and happiness during her retirement.
