RESOLUTION NO. 10990
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO SUBMIT
AN APPLICATION FOR OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY (OTS) FUNDS FOR
THE PORTABLE CHANGEABLE MESSAGE SIGN PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Portable Changeable Message Sign Project entails the procurement of
one portable changeable message sign that would improve traffic safety by alerting the
motoring public of traffic laws, street closures, and construction-related activities; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary cost estimate is $20,000 for the project; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) grant program is a federally-funded
program administered by the California Office of Traffic Safety to fund projects that
mitigate traffic safety program deficiencies, expand ongoing activity, or develop a new
program; and
WHEREAS, the ability to obtain OTS funding approval is enhanced by endorsement of
the project by elected officials; and
WHEREAS, the OTS grant program requires no local match.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that the Public Works Director is hereby authorized to execute and file an Office of
Traffic Safety grant application for funding under the Office of Traffic Safety Program in
the amount of $20,000 for the Portable Changeable Message Sign Project.
