RESOLUTION NO. 10994
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A COST
SHARING AGREEMENT WITH THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS FOR THE POLLARD
ROAD/ABBOTT AVENUE LIGHTED CROSSWALK PROJECT
WHEREAS, a fair number of Rolling Hills Middle School students and other local residents walk
across Pollard Road at Abbott Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos' Pollard Road/Abbott Avenue Lighted Crosswalk Project
involves the design and construction of a lighted crosswalk and roadside sign system on Pollard
Road at Abbott Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bid for the Pollard Road/Abbott Avenue Lighted Crosswalk
Project is about $60,000; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos budgeted amount of $50,000 falls $10,000 short of the
budget required to award the construction contract with contingencies; and
WHEREAS, the Pollard Road/Abbott Avenue Lighted Crosswalk Project would provide a safer
walking environment for pedestrians of both Campbell and Los Gatos to cross Pollard Road at
Abbott Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the
Public Works Director is hereby authorized to contribute Bicycle/Pedestrian Traffic Safety funds
in the amount of $10,000 for the Pollard Road/Abbott Avenue Lighted Crosswalk Project.
