RESOLUTION N0. 2267
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on the
application of Mr. Peter Doane, on behalf of the Covenant Church of
Campbell, for a use permit and approval of establishment of a church
in a previous school site on property known as 1300 Sheffield Avenue
in a P-F (Public Facilities/Public, Semi-Public)Zoning District, as
per application filed in the Office of the Planning Department on
March 9, 1984, and after presentation by the Planning Director, pro-
ponents and opponents, the hearing was closed (UP 84-04).
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Commission
did find as follows:
That the establishment, maintenance, and operation. of the
proposed use will not be detrimental to the health, safety,
peace, morals, comfort, or general welfare of persons
residing or working in the neighborhood of such use, or
be detrimental or injurious to the property and improve-
ments in the neighborhood or the general welfare of the
City.
Based on the above findings, the Planning Commission does hereby
grant the requested use permit, subject to the conditions attached hereto
as Exhibit A. The requested use permit is granted for a period of three
years, with a review to take place after one year.
The applicant is notified as part of this application that he/she
is required to comply with all applicable Codes and/or Ordinances of the
City of Campbell and the State of California which pertain to this
development and are not herein specified.

1. Loose seats shall be bonded together when in use.
2. Provide two (2) 2A:lOBC fire extinguishers adjacent to exit doors.
3. Exit doors shall swing in direction of egress and be equipped with
panic hardware.
4. Exit signs shall be illuminated with two separate sources of power.
5. Room capacity sign shall be posted with sign "Occupant Load 562 Persons".
6. All decorations shall be flame retardant.
7. Any cooking appliances shall have a hood and duct fire extinguishing
system provided.
Classrooms
1. 2A:lOBC fire extinguishers shall be provided within 75' travel distance
of each room.
2. All decorations shall be flame retardant.
3. Extension cords shall not be used in place of fixed wiring.
4. All classrooms shall have afire evacuation plan posted.
General Requirements _
1. Church officials shall obtain an agreement from the C.U.S.D. to ac-
tivate the fire alarm system on a 24-hour basis.
2. Fire drills shall be held on a monthly basis.

1. Hours of operation and use of buildings to be restricted to those
indicated in letter from Covenant Church dated March 12, 1984.
2. Attendance at any service or activity to be limited to
the number of parking spaces provided in wnformance with
the Zoning Ordinance.
3. Parking layout to be approved by Staff.
4. Use Permit is granted for period of three years, with review in
one year (April 10, 1985).

speakers. special church .functions (i.e. Thanks-
giving, Christmas and Easter programs,etc.).
B. Rooms 4p14 and ~~15 will be renovated to provide
offices for the. church .staff. The .full time
staff presently consists of a secretary, a

senior pastor, and an assistant pastor. Ttie
offices will be used for pastoral study and
prayer, pastoral counseling, church admin-
istration, and the administration of the
.school.
C. Rooms ~~18 thru ~~21 and the Special Classroom
will be used for our church school,. grades
K thru 12. Approximately 70 students will be
divided up among 3 of the classrooms and the
4th will be used as a miscellaneous learning
• center for reading enhancement programs and
special tutoring.
The Special Classroom will be used as a
combination library and computer learning
center for our school.
3. Scheduled activities for specified areas.

2. Every Saturday evening 6:OOp.m. to 9:30p.m.
3. Special services; generally evenings between
