BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING THAT ZONING NOT
BE CHANGED FOR CERTAIN AREAS OF SAN TOMAS, SUB-
AREAS 2 AND 3, DISCUSSION AREAS 3 AND 4 (CITY-
INITIATED, ZC 83-03).
After notification and public hearings as specified by law on proposed amend-
ments to the Zoning Map of the City of Campbell and after presentation by the
Plarming Director, proponents and opponents, the Planning Cortmiission did de-
termine that the changes as shown in Exhibit A, attached, should not be made
to the Zoning Map based on the following findings:
1. The proposed zone changes would be detrimental to the health,
safety, peace, morals, comfort or general welfare of the per-
sons residing or working in the neighborhood of such zone
changes and be detrimental or injurious to property and im-
provements in the neighborhood or the general welfare of the
City.
2. The proposed zone changes would not facilitate improvements in
the area.
3. The Planning Co~rnnission recorrnnends that consideration be given
to increasing the densities allowable in the present Land Use
Element of the General Plan of properties directly addressing
themselves to San Tomas Aquino Road, between Hazel Avenue be-
ginning with San Tomas Aquino Rd., down to/or adjacent to Pecan
Avenue, so as to allow the possibility of development and im-
provements in this specific area.
The Planning Commission of the City of Campbell recommends that the City Coun-
cil does not enact an ordinance making effective the zone changes proposed in
the attached Exhibit A.
