RESOLUTION NO. 11056
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXTEND THE EXISTING LIMITS OF
THE SAN TOMAS EXPRESSWAY LANDSCAPING MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell and County of Santa Clara have an existing landscaping
maintenance agreement whose limits are from Gale Drive to Hamilton Avenue on San Tomas
Expressway; and
WHEREAS, the San Tomas Expressway/Hamilton Avenue Improvement Project (CIP No. 07-10)
installed median landscaping and irrigation between Gale Drive and the north city limits; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bid for the San Tomas Expressway/Hamilton Avenue
Improvement Project (CIP No. 07-10) was 20 percent below the engineer's estimate; and
WHEREAS, on March 4, 2008, the City Council approved a budget adjustment for $78,700 for
additional scope of work on this project and the $78,700 remains in the project budget; and
WHEREAS, the cost of median landscaping on Hamilton Avenue between San Tomas
Expressway and Llewellyn Avenue is estimated to be below $50,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the
City Council authorizes the Public Works Director to extend the existing limits of the San Tomas
Expressway landscaping maintenance agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell authorizes the use
of the $78,700 remaining in the project budget to landscape the Hamilton Avenue median
between San Tomas Expressway and Llewellyn Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell authorizes the
Public Works Director to execute any subsequent minor modifications and adjustments to the
landscaping agreement as may be necessary from time to time.
