RESOLUTION NO. 11067
A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING ISSUING REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) AND CALL FOR BIDS TO
UPGRADE NORTEL MERIDIAN TELEPHONE SWITCH, CALLPILOT VOICE MESSAGING
SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, upgrade of the Nortel Meridian Telephone Switch, CallPilot Voice Messaging
System and associated equipment is funded in the FY 2009/10 Machinery and Equipment
Budget; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell's Purchasing Policy requires if the equipment's estimated fair
market value is greater than twenty-five thousand dollars a formal bid process has to be used;
and
WHEREAS, the existing Nortel Meridian Telephone Switch, CallPilot Voice Messaging System
and associated equipment is no longer supported by the manufacturer; and
WHEREAS, at least two suppliers have been identified that can perform the upgrade to the to
this equipment; and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting the purchase of an upgrade to the Nortel Meridian Telephone
Switch, CallPilot Voice Messaging System and associated equipment not to exceed $81,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approves issuance of Request for
Proposals (RFP) and Call for Bids to Upgrade the Nortel Meridian Telephone Switch, CallPilot
Voice Messaging System, and associated equipment not to exceed $81,000 in total.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to
award the contract for this upgrade to the lowest responsible bidder.
