A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE WINCHESTER PARKING LOT
ENTRYWAY AND PLAZA
WHEREAS, preparation of final plans and specifications for the OCBH project is proceeding
with the goal of construction commencing in early 2010; and
WHEREAS, the Winchester parking lot plaza is an important entry feature for the entire
Community Center; and
WHEREAS, staff determined that the location for the OCBH drop-off as currently contemplated
in the conceptual plaza design was sub-optimal; and
WHEREAS, staff and the design team felt that there would be significant value added by
designing the plaza to integrate with future improvement of the existing concrete area that
extends westerly along Building E; and
WHEREAS, it would be prudent to develop a concept for the entire Winchester Boulevard plaza
and entryway before installing improvements in the Winchester parking lot plaza area; and
WHEREAS, the City has ashort-list of landscape architects developed from the recent
consultant selection process for Stojanovich Family Park; and
WHEREAS, staff would return to the Council with a consultant selection recommendation
following the proposal solicitation and review process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the
City Council of the City of Campbell hereby authorizes the Public Works Director to solicit
proposals for landscape architectural design services for the Winchester parking lot entryway
and plaza for the Orchard City Banquet Hall Project.
