A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBEll
APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT AND ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS FOR
THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF VIDEO PROJECTION EQUIPMENT IN
THE HERITAGE THEATRE
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted the operating budget for 2009/10; and
WHEREAS, the City, in collaboration with the Friends of the Heritage Theatre, applied
for a $50,000 AT&T Excelerator Grant for the installation of cablecasting equipment in
the Heritage Theatre and;
WHEREAS, AT&T awarded grant funds in the amount of $20,000 for this project which
were deposited with the Friends of the Heritage Theatre; and
WHEREAS, supplemental funding has not been secured for this project, and
WHEREAS, additional funding of $5,000 is needed and available in the Theater
Preservation and Enhancement Reserve and this project would be a suitable use of
those funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell:
(1) approves a budget adjustment in the amount of $25,000 for the purchase and
installation of video projection equipment in the Heritage Theatre; and (2) accepts
AT&T grant funds in the amount of $20,000 from the Friends of the Heritage Theatre to
be used toward purchase of such video equipment; and (3) authorizes the use of
$5,000 from the Theater Preservation and Enhancement Reserve to complete the
funding requirement for the purchase.

REASON FOR REQUEST - BE SPECIFIC:
Use AT&T grant funds ($20.000) and Theatre Preservation Reserve funds ($5,000) to purchase
video projection equipment which will enhance the marketability of the Heritage Theatre and may be
used in conjunction with future cablecasting equipment.
