RESOLUTION NO. 11122
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
ACCEPTING JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) AND SANTA CLARA
COUNTY SPECIALIZED ENFORCEMENT TEAM (SCCSET) FUNDS AND
APPROVING AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE 2009-2010 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET TO
PURCHASE PLATESCAN LPR SYSTEMS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Campbell has adopted a budget for the 2009-
2010 fiscal year; and,
WHEREAS, additional revenue is available to the City from the Justice Assistance Grant
(JAG) and Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team (SSCSET) funds that may
be used to purchase equipment that will be used to enhance the effectiveness of the
Campbell Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City has complied with the legal provisions required to receive this
revenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that the City accept JAG Funding from the Department of Justice in the amount of
$32,753 and funding from SCCSET in the amount of $7,247; authorize a budget
adjustment in the amount of $40,000 for the purchase of two Platescan LPR systems; and
authorize the Chief of Police to execute a contract not to exceed $40,000 for the
purchase.

REASON FOR REQUEST - BE SPECIFIC:
Use JAG grant funds and see SET asset forfeiture distribution funds to purchase Platescan license plate reader system
