RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE A COST-SHARING
AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF SAN JOSE FOR THE SILICON VALLEY-INTELLIGENT
TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS (SV-ITS) ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has been a partner and stakeholder in the City of San Jose's
SV-ITS Program; and
WHEREAS, the Bascom Avenue/Campbell Avenue Controller Cabinet Replacement Project
(CIP No. 09-05) is included in the Fiscal Year 2010/14 Capital Improvement Plan and would
entail the replacement of the existing traffic signal controller cabinet at the Bascom/Campbell
intersection, installation of service equipment, and installation of a new uninterrupted power
supply (UPS) at this intersection; and
WHEREAS, the SV-ITS Enhancement Project design team is capable of preparing plans and
specifications for the work required in the Bascom/Campbell Project; and
WHEREAS, Campbell must execute a cost-sharing agreement with the City of San Jose to
allow San Jose Department of Transportation staff to obtain bids to construct the
Bascom/Campbell improvements; and
WHEREAS, the engineer's estimate for constructing the improvements is $40,209, well within
the City's approved budget for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the
Public Works Director is hereby authorized to execute a cost-sharing agreement between the
City of Campbell and the City of San Jose for the SV-ITS Enhancement Project.
