RESOLUTION NO. 11131
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO
EXECUTE A CONSULTANT SERVICES CONTRACT TO
DEVELOP AND RELEASE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)
RELATED TO LEASING SPACE ON THE CITY OF CAMPBELL'S
EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS TOWER TO COMMERCIAL
WIRELESS CARRIERS.
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell owns a 1 DO-foot monopole tower which was installed to achieve
microwave connectivity between 9-1-1 centers participating in the Silicon Valley Regional
Interoperability Project (SVRIP); and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has identified the possibility of leasing unused space on the
Emergency Communications Tower as a possible revenue source; and
WHEREAS, the existing Emergency Communications Tower was specifically designed to include
free space areas for commercial wireless arrays and sufficient strength to handle any potential
"load" placed upon the tower by a commercial wireless array.
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell desires the services of a qualified consultant to develop and
release a Request for Proposal (RFP) related to leasing space on the Emergency Communications
Tower to commercial wireless carriers; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby
authorize the Police Department to execute a consultant services contract to develop and release
a Request for Proposal (RFP) related to leasing space on the City of Campbell's Emergency
Communications Tower to commercial wireless carriers.
