RESOLUTION NO.
11133
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL CONGRATULATING
BOB CARLSON, 2009 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Bob Carlson has been selected by the Campbell Chamber of Commerce
as 2009 Citizen of the Year in recognition of many years of volunteer service to the
Campbell community; and
WHEREAS, Bob Carlson will be honored at the annual "Celebrate Campbell" banquet
on March 27, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Bob Carlson has led a number of volunteer groups on several projects that
have enhanced the City's park and recreational facilities while saving the City money in
fiscally tight times by lowering labor costs, acquiring free equipment, and organizing and
supervising volunteers in an efficient and positive manner; and
WHEREAS, Bob Carlson has been a mentor and positive role model providing
leadership and organizational skills in a program that teaches at-risk youth to be
responsible and caring citizens; and
WHEREAS, Bob Carlson has a unique ability to bring people from various organizations
together and provide motivation and a sense of purpose and community that has been
instrumental in completing many projects to benefit the Campbell community; and
WHEREAS, Bob Carlson is an active member of the Campbell Kiwanis Club, has
served as President and been honored as "Kiwanian of the Year."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
congratulate Bob Carlson on being named Campbell's 2009 Citizen of the Year and
recognizes his service to the Campbell community and continued involvement in
community and civic projects.
