RESOLUTION NO. 11135
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO APPROVE THE PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, AND ESTIMATES, AUTHORIZING THE SOLICITATION OF BIDS, AND
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO AWARD THE CONTRACT FOR THE
CAMPBELL AVENUE/LOOP STREETS REHABILlATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Jobs for Main Street Act of 2010, anticipates an allocation of $500,000 _
$600,000 to the City of Campbell; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell Avenue/Loop Streets Jobs for Main Street (JFMS) Rehabilitation
Project is being submitted to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission as Campbell's JFMS
project; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the annual street maintenance program that could be
allocated to augment the JFMS funds and complete a larger and more cost effective project;
and
WHEREAS; JFMS may require grant fund recipients to execute a construction contract no more
than 90 days from enactment; and
WHEREAS, plans, specifications and estimates will be prepared to meet all required obligations
in accordance to federal and state legislations; and
WHEREAS, in order to meet this accelerated project delivery schedule, authorizing the Public
Works Director to approve the plans and specifications, advertise for bids, and award a
construction contract would significantly streamline the process;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
authorizes the Public Works Director to approve the plans, specifications and estimate for the
Campbell Avenue/Loop Streets Rehabilitation Project; authorizes the Public Works Director to
issue such plans and specifications for public bid; authorizes the Public Works Director to
determine the lowest reasonable and responsible bidder and award a construction contract
within existing street maintenance budget allocations as augmented by JFMS funding.
