PC Res 1980RESOLUTION N0. 1980
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING DENIAL OF A
CHANGE IN THE ZONING FOR PROPERTY KNOWN AS 35
AND 45 S. FIRST STREET (APPLICATION OF MR. MARK
STEVENSEN, ZC 81-06).
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on a proposed
amendment to the Zoning Map of the City of Campbell and after presentation
by the Planning Director, proponents and opponents, the Planning Commission
did determine that the change to include the property known as 35 and 45 S.
First Street in an H (Historic Preservation) Overlay Zoning District should
not be made to the Zoning Map based on the following findings:
1. It does not exemplify or reflect special elements
of the City's cultural, social, economic, political
aesthetic, engineering, or architectural history;
2. It is not identified with persons or events significant
in local, state, or national history;
3. It does not embody distinctive characteristics of a style,
type, period or method of construction, or is a valuable
example of the use of indigenous materials or craftsmanship.
4. That the H (Historic Preservation) Overlay Zoning
for this site may impede future development of the
downtown area.
Based on the above findings, the Planning Commission does hereby recommend
that the property known as 35 and 45 S. First not be included in an H (Historic
Preservation) Overlay Zoning District.
