PC Res 1979RESOLUTION N0. 1979
CITY OF CAMPBEL
P'LANNING COMMISSION
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING DENIAL OF A
CHANGE TO THE ZONING FOR PROPERTY KNOWN AS 824
EAST CAMPBELL AVENUE (APPLICATION OF THE CIVIC
IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION, ZC 81-05) .
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on a proposed
amendment to the Zoning Map of the City of Campbell and after presentation
by the Planning Director, proponents, and opponents, the Planning Co~ndssion
did determine that the change to include the property lmown as 824 E.
Campbell Avenue in an H (Historic Preservation) Overlay Zoning District
should not be made to the Zoning Map based on the following findings:
1. It was not felt that the structure at 824 E. Campbell
is of significant historic value.
2. It was felt that even though the Nbrtons were involved
in City affairs it was not felt that they were no more
inwlved than many others; Nbrton did live in this house,
but not while he served as mayor.
3. With the plans for realignment of Union Avenue at
Campbell Avernle allowing for only three feet between
the street right of way and the building, it was
felt that this would create a real hardship an the
property owner.
