BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT TO INCREASE THE EXPENDITURE
APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE PROFESSIONAL AND
SPECIALIZED SERVICES ACCOUNT IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2009/10
OPERATING BUDGET
WHEREAS, the Campbell City Council held a Study Session on April 20, 2010 to
review and discuss options for revenue enhancement requiring voter approval;
and
WHEREAS, the options under consideration are increases to the City's Business
License Tax and/or Transient Occupancy Tax; and
WHEREAS, both of these revenue measures would require a majority vote; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell City Council is considering placing either or both of
these measures on the upcoming November 2010 Municipal General Election; and
WHEREAS, the City is contracting with Godbe Research, a firm with whom the
City has conducted numerous surveys and polls in the past, to conduct polling on
the potential level of support the two revenue measures might have; and
WHEREAS, polling services for this specific purpose are not budgeted in the City's
Fiscal Year 2010 Operating Budget and;
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the City's Reserve for Operations to cover
the cost for said polling services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Campbell does hereby authorize the attached Budget Adjustment form in the
amount of $15,000 to increase the expenditure appropriation to the City Manager's
Office Professional and Specialized Services Program account in the Fiscal Year
2009/10 Operating Budget.
