PC Res 1619RESOLUTION N0. 1619
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING DENIAL OF A REQUESTED
AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN OF
THE CITY OF CAMPBELL FROM LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO
LOW-MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL FOR PROPERTY KNOWN AS
106 NORTH THIRD STREET IN A P-D ZONING DISTRICT.
(Application of John and Juanita Schmedes)
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on proposed
amendment to the General Plan of the City of Campbell from "Low Density
Residential" to "Low-Medium Density Residential" on property known as
106 North Third Street, as shown on the attached map, as per the application
filed in the Planning Department on June 7, 1977, by John and Juanita Schmedes,
and after presentation by the Planning Director, proponents, and opponents,
the hearing was closed.
After consideration of all the evidence presented, the Planning
Commission did find as follows:
1. As a result of neighborhood support, the General Plan was changed
to low density residential approximately three years ago.
2. That any change should consider all the lots between Grant Avenue
and Civic Center Way, which is under construction.
3. That a more appropriate time to review this area would be in
conjunction with determining land use for the Campbell Grammar
School property.
4. That the proposed amendment to the General Plan may be detrimental
to the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort, or general welfare
of the neighboring residents.
The Planning Commission does hereby adopt a resolution recommending
denial of the proposed amendment to the Land Use Element of the General Plan
of the City of Campbell from Low Density Residential to Low-Medium Density
Residential for property known as 106 North Third Street, Campbell, California.
