A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
A REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF SAN JOSE FOR
INTERJURISDICTIONAL STREET MAINTENANCE WORK
WHEREAS, The City of San Jose is currently completing a street maintenance project on
Vanderbilt Drive and McCoy Avenue where the City of San Jose borders the City of Campbell;
and
WHEREAS, in these locations, the City limit line travels down the street centerline, putting one
half of the street within the City of San Jose and the other half in the City of Campbell; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jose has offered to complete work on McCoy Avenue and Vanderbilt
Drive within the City of Campbell with their current street rehabilitation project; and
WHEREAS, completing a full street pavement rehabilitation not only results in a better, more
consistent street rehabilitation product, but the work can also be done with less disruption to the
community and for a reduced cost as duplication of efforts are eliminated when the work is
completed with one project; and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the existing condition of the streets and has determined them to
be in need of pavement rehabilitation, and has reviewed the proposed rehabilitation treatments
and costs and has determined those to be reasonable and appropriate; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost to complete such work is $35,000; and
WHEREAS, funding to complete the proposed work is available in the Annual Street Maintenance
Project 10-AA; and
WHEREAS, City of San Jose is willing to complete the work on McCoy Avenue and Vanderbilt
Drive within the City of Campbell and be compensated by the City for the costs incurred; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does
hereby authorize the City Manager to execute a reimbursement agreement with the City of San
Jose for interjurisdictional street rehabilitation work on McCoy Avenue and Vanderbilt Drive.
