A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
ACCEPTING AN IN-KIND DONATION FROM SOUTH BAY YOUTH SOCCER FOR
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CAMPBELL COMMUNITY CENTER SOCCER FIELDS
WHEREAS, South Bay Youth Soccer (SBYS) is a designated Resident Youth Sports Organization
that has been granted priority status for use of City fields at the Campbell Community Center; and
WHEREAS, SBYS would like to make improvements to the soccer fields; and
WHEREAS, these fields and the community at large, particularly our youth, would benefit from
these improvements; and
WHEREAS, SBYS has agreed to make drainage improvements to these fields at a cost of
approximately $20,000; and
WHEREAS, SBYS will directly compensate the contractor performing the work without any charge
to the City; and
WHEREAS, SBYS has obtained competitive bids for the work consistent with the City's purchasing
policies for projects under $25,000; and
WHEREAS, SBYS will be issued a no-fee encroachment permit for the work 1) requiring
compliance with all applicable laws and 2) indemnifying the City against any violations of law in the
performance of the work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
accepts an in-kind donation from South Bay Youth Soccer for improvements to the City of Campbell
Community Center Soccer fields in the approximate amount of $20,000.
