A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) TO REPLACE THE
HEWLETT PACKARD LEFTHAND SAN AND ASSOCIATED SWITCHING EQUIPMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO AWARD CONTRACT
WHEREAS, replacement of the LeftHand Storage Area Network (SAN) and Associated
Switching Equipment is funded in the FY 12 Information Technology Budget; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell's Purchasing Policy requires if the equipment's estimated fair
market value is greater than twenty-five thousand dollars a formal bid process has to be used;
and
WHEREAS, the existing LeftHand Storage Area Network (SAN) and Associated Switching
Equipment are no longer supported by the manufacturer; and
WHEREAS, at least two suppliers have been identified that can provide, install and configure
this equipment; and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting the purchase of a replacement for the LeftHand Storage Area
Network (SAN) and Associated Switching Equipment not to exceed $80,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approves issuance of an RFP and
Call for Bids to replace the LeftHand SAN and Associated Switching Equipment not to exceed
$80,000 in total.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to
award the contract for this upgrade to the Proposer whose proposal is determined to be the
most advantageous to the City.
