A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF DONATED SURPLUS
COUNTY FIRE EQUIPMENT AND CONVEYANCE TO
THE CITY OF RIOVERDE, SAN LUIS POTOS~, MEXICO
WHEREAS, the International City/County Management Association (ICMA)
established the International Resource Cities Program (IRCP) in 1997 to provide
technical assistance to municipalities in developing and transitional countries; and
WHEREAS, in November 2001, the City Council authorized the execution of a
Memorandum of Understanding with ICMA, and the City of Rioverde, San Luis Potosi,
Mexico; and
WHEREAS, Campbell has continued to maintain contact with officials in
Rioverde for the purpose of ongoing support and technical assistance; and
WHEREAS, in October 2007, the City of Campbell authorized the donation of
four vehicles and miscellaneous surplus furniture and equipment to the City of
Rioverde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico; and
WHEREAS, this past summer 2011, Santa Clara County Fire identified
additional surplus equipment, mainly safety apparel, for donation to the City of
Rioverde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico; and
WHEREAS, staff estimates the value of the donation to be less than $1500.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell authorizes the acceptance of donated additional surplus equipment from the
County Fire Department and the conveyance of said items to the City of Rioverde, San
Luis Potosi, Mexico.
